Sbiten: bebida milenaria a base de miel - Sbiten: millennial based honey drink

El Sbiten es una bebida hecha a base de miel. Se empezó a beber en Rusia hace más de mil años. Antiguamente se preparaba utilizando los samovares para su cocción, de hecho, éste fue su uso principal. Su empleo en la preparación del té es mucho más tardío. Como ya se ha indicado, el componente básico del sbiten es es la miel, pero será necesario añadir especias y diferentes hierbas para conseguir el peculiar sabor que lo distingue. Existen recetas de sbiten tanto con alcohol, cuando la bebida es el resultado de una fermentación con el lúpulo añadido, como sin él.
Ingredientes:
1 litro de agua, 300 gs de miel, 2 hojas de laurel, clavo de olor, canela, jengibre y cardamomo.
Preparación
Hervir agua. Añadir la miel y las especias. Cocer todo junto durante 30-35 minutos. Una vez preparado se vierte en tazas y se toma caliente. En caso de que se desee conseguir un efecto embriagador, será preciso añadir 200 ml del vino tinto por cada litro en los últimos instantes de la cocción. Es una bebida de fácil preparación y perfecta para el calentarse en invierno, sea éste en Rusia u otro lugar.
